an instrument finely tuned for a good day at Windansea... Carl Ekstrom's asymetric fish. we had a keel on the toe side rail and a quad on the heel side... three fins in all, but all on the rail.
I love it! I made myself an asymmetric windsurf board a lot like this back in the dark ages (80's, no surf growing up in Denmark), with two small fins on the heel rail and one larger center fin. Have been mulling over the idea of something like this for the right reef/point out in front. Does it really feel like the best of both worlds? The pure keel sensation on the bottom turns, and the tighter snap of the quad? Would love to hear more. Cheers
