Appreciate the early read.
A great piece.
Well written and interesting to anyone
into design.... period.
The Eames/ Simmons connection of form and function is great stuff.
Thank you.

'The Holy Trinity'.. Just made my day.

Excellent, inspiring, educational stuff.

Thanks for posting.

Not only the form/function but the materials. Fiberglass, foam, etc. I believe the Eames brothers worked at Boeing along side Simmons... ok I might be spouting nonsense but there's some truth somewhere around what I just said...

Now I would like to have one to sit next to my rocker like the picture.

Great article and congrats from a BK Mollusk kook...

Not to be a snob but FYI...
Charles and Ray Eames were husband and wife. Yeh, the materials as well.

Sounds like I need to do a little more homework. Thanks for the correction. Only mildly embarrassed.

Alright I finally sat down to do more than skim the article. Thank you RK for writing such a well crafted article. It's far more eloquent and thought provoking than my mumbling. Everything I coughed up in the comments here is in the article. And mo betta.

nice job r.k. what a great read. all your research in & out of the water will give you a nice place in the surfing history books.

Bubbie knows how hard you work and surf. I feel strongly that you'll finish this as soon as you're ready to. Henri Matisse didn't arrive with his greatest work until he was in his 50's..there's no expiration date on creativity.
Remember that Thoreau quote in the studio? "Who thinks they can kill time without injuring eternity"
Thats there to remind me..
Thanks for the inspiration Professor Kenvin!
